The Dance Shack/FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the age range at your studio?
Minimum age is 16 years old. Some of this stuff can be intense, so you'll want to be in good shape. Some of the clubs we go to on our Nights Out have an age minimum that you'll have to meet.
Do I need a partner?
No partner needed!
How much are the classes?
Prices here! Information about the classes here!
When are your classes?
Here's a link to the Calendar.
What do I need to wear?
Anything that won't get you arrested.
Do we have to switch partners?
No, you can stick with one person, but switching will improve your lead and follow.
Should I take a private, then a class, or a class, then a private?
It doesn't matter. You will learn faster with private lessons. If you want to get a jump on things, start with that. Group classes are less expensive, but you still learn to dance.
How long does it take to learn to dance?
It's different for everybody, both because everyone learns at a different speed, and because "good" means different things to different people. If you have never danced before, you can become what you probably now consider to be "good" in just a few lessons, but as you get more advanced, what you consider "good" might change.
Do I need special shoes?
Nope. But don't wear flip-flops that can slide off your feet.
Can I try it for free?
Yes, come to our free Newbie Class!
